It actually depends on the individuals interests.Both have their positives and negatives.

The data will be maintained by only the administrator and the content will not be diluted by some other people as that usually happens with blogs.So,people generally prefer Website than Blog as its not an editable content.

A website can provide an instant visual presentation,like,lets say we have started a company which is very new.So,we cannot afford advertisemnts on telivision as it will cost us huge.So,a website provides a visual effect and can be reached to tens and thousands of customers through internet.If a customer have a query he can post it over there directly rather than calling over phone which will charge the customers and they will feel that they have been charged for nothing.

Coming to Blog.

These days it have become so common blogging that even an elementary child is the roll of blogging.Few years back it was just like a calender,online storage of our own data,and solely for self-purpose.But these days its meaning have been completely changed except that its an editable content and people prefer Blog over Website as it can be updated everyday and every time we think of updating some information.

Bloggers have become so popular that these days Blogs are given more preference than Websites as blogs will be updated every day(Might be even every hour).For instance,i was just searching for some information on Adsense and i was suddenly struck at the first link which was a blog and maintained by a professional blogger(Problogger he is,and his site).
