Fiverup - Bad Fiverr Alternative (Worse Than Fiverr Itself)

Posted by starplanet | Posted on 14/07/2016 at 23:09:54

UPDATED!
I originally created this post about Fiverup in order to suggest it as a better alternative to Fiverr. However, after further experience with them I've amended it, as they don't seem to be any better than Fiverr at all, in fact they seem worse, and dishonest.

Despite the fact that the site doesn't have nearly as many listings, I was happy to give them a try as I wanted Fiverr to have some real competition. So I ordered one of their gigs (I had already been signed up for several months at this point). The gig said it would be delivered within 9 days! Needless to say, it wasn't delivered at all. But instead of refunding the money into my Paypal account, Fiverup refunded it as credit into my Fiverup account. This is exactly what Fiverr do and really annoys me. After a bit of emailing them, I eventually managed to get the $5 back into my Paypal account. This should be automatic, not something you have to chase.

But what really annoyed me was that I tried to log back into my account a few days later and it said my details were wrong. So I requested a password reset and it told me no account existed for that email address. I hadn't received any communication from them to tell me anything about this. So I contacted them and they didn't bother replying. I then contacted them again the following week, and told them I currently promoted their site on my website and that I would update my page accordingly if I didn't hear anything back. Due to this threat, they emailed me back and just said that I had never activated my account so it had been deleted after 30 days of signup... yet I'd been signed up for a year and had definitely activated my account, and in fact placed an order with them!! When I told them this, they just said something like 'I'm sorry you feel that way', and shirked it off completely. They were blatantly lying to me; they had obviously closed my account because I had requested a refund for the gig I never received.

The other thing I'm annoyed about is that more than 30 people had clicked through from my site via a referral link, which I should have received $0.25 each for, yet my account always showed that I had made no referrals. I don't believe this is true. Having since read other horror stories on the internet about Fiverup, I would not recommend them as a good alternative to Fiverr. My original post is below, but was written when I was newly registered and hadn't yet experienced their shocking customer service.

(ORIGINAL POST)
I wanted to post something about Fiverup as it's a very good alternative to Fiverr with additional features. Many people, like me, have been becoming increasingly disillusioned with Fiverr (as Tinytim's post well illustrates), and for good reason. They don't appear to care about what people are doing on their site as long as it makes them money. But I don't think a lot of people realise that there are alternatives, and Fiverup is in my opinion the best of these.

Fiverup is very obviously modelled on Fiverr's old website, before they re-launched it towards the end of last year. In fact it looks almost identical. It's very easy to navigate and although they're not as big as Fiverr, they are still fairly big and definitely big enough to make it worthwhile. Sellers can charge anywhere from $4 to $100 per gig, and there is also an instant delivery option for those selling ebooks (there's even an ebooks category). They have no withdrawal limit and also offer basically everything that Fiverr offers.

Whether you're disillusioned with Fiverr or not, it's worth registering with Fiverup either as a replacement or an addition. Hopefully more people will start to migrate to Fiverup so that Fiverr will stop trying to rip people off with their dominant share of the market.

Hi, i went on the fiverup site and even set up an account yet can not find ANY information anywhere on what commission fiverup charges. They state they charge a $1 withdrawal fee but what about their commission fees? Fiverr obviously rips you off with a 20% commission as does SEOClerks, but fiverup must also charge SOMETHING in terms of commission for your sales. Why is this information nowhere to be found? It does not seem very transparent of them.

Probably worth checking out Fourerr.com, they seem to be okay.
