Most people don't seem to know that it's now possible for anybody to publish their own book, both in electronic and paperback formats. Createspace is an Amazon company, which lets you upload a book to them and they will publish it, making it available for purchase on Amazon.com and also through distributors so retailers can purchase it. The whole process is completely free, you get to set the price of the book and you get good royalties every time one sells (much more than you would get with a traditional publisher). They print them on demand and the quality is excellent.

The process is extremely easy and even if you're not sure how to do a cover, they have a number of templates you can choose from.

If you've got a book already published in ebook format, publishing it with Createspace as well is a no brainer. I was surprised to find that my paperback sales actually far outweigh the digital sales.

If you don't think of yourself as an author, you should still consider this as an opportunity. Remember, you don't have to write a novel; people make money by compiling books of interesting quotes or jokes or funny places names, and to do this you certainly don't need to be a literary genius.
