Freelancer is an online portal where you can find and bid on work in your chosen skill sets. There are thousands of jobs going up every day so there's almost guaranteed to be something that suits your abilities.

The way it works is clients go on there and post jobs they would like completed, for example a piece of text that needs writing or a database that needs building. You can then bid for the job by saying how much you would charge for it, and giving a bit of information about yourself and your expertise.

The more jobs you do, the more feedback you get. When you've got higher feedback you can get away with charging more for the work you do.
