How it works
Amazon Flex offers self-employed delivery work in UK service areas. The app shows the payment and estimated duration before you reserve a block; actual time can differ and openings depend on local demand. This can suit someone with a suitable vehicle and spare periods for deliveries, but compare the payment with the entire journey, including travel to the collection point and possible parcel returns. Weekly payments are normally initiated on Wednesdays to your linked bank account.
You must be 18+, have the right to work self-employed in the UK, a National Insurance number and a supported smartphone, and pass the required checks. Car deliveries need a full UK licence, an eligible vehicle with at least five seats and Hire and Reward cover alongside ordinary motor insurance. Eligible e-bike work has separate equipment and insurance requirements. Fuel, servicing, parking, insurance and tax reduce your take-home return. Some areas have waiting lists, so check local recruitment before spending on equipment; this is delivery work with responsibility for parcels and road safety, not guaranteed passive income.
