How it works
ARC Raiders is running a free-play weekend on Steam, giving PC players a chance to try its multiplayer extraction gameplay before buying. You head into a hostile environment to find resources, contend with mechanical enemies and other players, and try to return with your loot. It can be played alone or in a small group, although it remains an online multiplayer game. The Steam page currently has a Play Game option and states that free play runs until 12 October.
This is temporary access, not a free game to keep: continuing after the free period requires a purchase. Use the free Play Game option rather than the separate paid edition buttons, and check Steam’s displayed finish time in your own locale. The game needs a compatible Windows PC, a broadband connection and a substantial download, so allow time to install it.
