How it works
ArtCraft’s Crafting Apps collection offers seven free, open-source programs covering common creative jobs. PhotoCraft handles image editing, VectorCraft is for vector artwork, FilmCraft covers video, LightCraft is for photos and RAW development, PdfCraft works with PDFs, EffectCraft covers motion graphics, and DesignCraft focuses on publishing layouts. The official collection lists installers for Windows, macOS and Linux, with browser versions available for several apps. They run locally on your files rather than requiring every edit to be uploaded to a cloud service.
These are early builds, with some labelled alpha and others still in development, so they are best approached as tools to try rather than guaranteed replacements for a professional workflow. Test copies of files first, particularly complex documents and projects made in other software. Follow the official collection page to the relevant app and its current release information. The free Crafting Apps are distinct from ArtCraft’s optional paid AI services; you do not need to subscribe to an AI plan simply to use these free applications.
