How it works
DataAnnotation’s generalist role involves reading AI-generated answers, judging their accuracy and usefulness, explaining your decisions and writing better responses. The work is remote and self-scheduled, with UK applications supported in the company’s recruitment information. It suits careful English writers who can research facts and follow detailed instructions. The current role page says no degree or technical background is required and advertises rates up to US$50 an hour, depending on the assignment. That is an advertised ceiling, not a guaranteed UK rate or an assurance that you will receive enough tasks to work full time.
There is no signup fee. Budget time for the starter assessment without assuming it will be paid, and check the rules before submitting: the FAQ says you get one attempt. Participation also requires identity verification using an accepted government photo ID and a selfie through Persona. Payments use PayPal, with clearance and withdrawal delays plus possible dollar-to-pound conversion costs. Contributor reviews include successful payouts but also empty task dashboards, restricted accounts and poor support, so treat this as uncertain extra work. Keep records of approved work and payments, account for tax and your equipment costs, and never pay an intermediary for access. We have not personally completed its application or tested a payout.
