Deliveroo: earn delivery fees with a bicycle, scooter or car
Self-employed delivery work with fees shown before acceptance; include waiting time, travel and vehicle costs when judging the return.

How it works
Deliveroo recruits self-employed UK riders using bicycles, scooters and cars, subject to local recruitment and verification. You see each delivery’s offered fee before choosing whether to accept it; there is no universal fixed payment per mile or guaranteed flow of orders. The advertised pay floor applies to estimated time on an accepted order, not every hour you remain online, and includes vehicle costs. Compare actual earnings over a whole shift, including gaps between jobs, rather than treating that floor as a take-home hourly wage.
Applicants need to be 18+, have permission to work self-employed in the UK, a suitable smartphone and a UK bank account, and pass the required identity and background checks. Car and scooter riders need the correct licence and food-delivery insurance as well as ordinary motor cover. Budget for fuel or charging, repairs, data and safe delivery equipment. Fees are normally paid on Tuesdays; optional early cash-out costs 50p, and riders retain customer tips. Check available areas and any agreement end date before spending on equipment. Work can be physically demanding and weather-dependent; allow for road safety, tax and unpaid downtime.
