How it works
The DeWalt DCH172N-XJ compact 18V XR SDS Plus hammer drill is £127.99 at Amazon. This is the body-only model, so it makes most sense if you already use compatible DeWalt batteries and have a charger. Its brushless motor and compact format are aimed at practical drilling work, with a quoted 16mm maximum masonry capacity and 1.4 joules of impact energy.
Do not compare this headline price with a full kit without allowing for the missing battery and charger. You will also need suitable SDS Plus drill bits rather than ordinary straight-shank bits. Stock was limited when checked, so verify the seller, availability and checkout price before ordering. Choose the tool for the holes and materials you actually need to work with, rather than assuming every SDS drill has the same modes or capacity.
