Gumroad: sell original digital downloads, with fees and a $100 payout threshold

How it works
Gumroad provides a storefront and digital delivery for products such as your own ebooks, design resources or templates. You can do the work from home in the UK, but you must create something useful, own the necessary rights and find people willing to buy it. Listing an item does not produce an income on its own. There is no monthly platform fee. For direct/profile sales the current charge is 10% plus US$0.50 per transaction, with payment processing extra; its help page quotes card processing at 2.9% plus US$0.30. The Discover marketplace instead takes 30%, including processing. Fixed charges can make very cheap products poor value for the seller.
The official payout table supports UK bank payments in pounds. Standard scheduled payouts require a balance equivalent to at least US$100, and sales normally have a minimum seven-day holding period before becoming eligible; account reviews, refunds or chargebacks can delay or reduce money received. UK payouts are scheduled on Wednesdays, with bank processing time afterwards. Identity and account checks apply. Gumroad acts as merchant of record for sales-tax collection, but that does not remove your own income-tax obligations. Allow for production, promotion, customer support and refunds when judging the return, and check the current fee and payout settings before launching. This is a small-business selling tool, not paid employment or guaranteed passive income.
