How it works
Amazon currently offers Star Trek VIII: First Contact as a Buy UHD digital purchase for £3.99. This is the 1996 film featuring the Enterprise crew confronting the Borg, with the checked listing showing UHD and HDR. The purchase is a single digital film in your video library, not a disc or the separate four-film collection. Select Buy UHD rather than Rent UHD, which is a different transaction.
The page also promotes a subscription free trial that renews for a monthly charge, but that is not required for the separate £3.99 purchase shown. Avoid starting a trial if you only want to buy the film. A compatible device, display and internet connection are needed for UHD/HDR playback; buying the UHD version does not make every device play at that quality. Digital purchases remain subject to Amazon’s viewing and account terms rather than giving you an unrestricted video file. No physical delivery applies, and no exact end time for the limited-price offer was confirmed.
